A variety of plant pathogens may attack roses from time to time including powdery mildew, rust, black spot, botrytis, downy mildew, and anthracnose. In addition to diseases caused by bacterial, fungal, and viral pathogens, roses may display similar symptoms that are the result of chemical toxicities, mineral deficiencies, or environmental problems. These are called abiotic disorders.
