This program describes a wide variety of simple, low-cost methods for small scale fresh produce handlers to use in maintaining quality and reducing postharvest losses of fruit, vegetable, and ornamental crops. Includes general recommendations for improved postharvest handling and illustrates specific practices for harvest, curing, packinghouse operations, packaging, insect and decay control, temperature and relative humidity management, storage, transportation and destination marketing.
